Hope does not Disappoint

Hope does not disappoint. Amid the experience of sufferings, or afflictions that may stem from different situations of life: enslavement by powerful individuals or social structures, pains of sickness disease, sorrows or of deprivations or pains of anxiety or panic triggering conditions, irrespective of the negative situations, what keeps us going forward is the strength of hope. The message of hope creates in us the strong vision that the painful or sorrowful experiences we are undergoing will be abated or handled sooner or later by a higher force or authority, our loving Father, God. The message of hope that the future will be better than the experience of the present reignites inner strength and solace in whoever is undergoing pains, agitations or anxieties stemming from various factors of life. The core of God’s message to the people in enslaving or difficult situations and experiences is the reality of His presence to address their sorrowful conditions. God gives His people hope not just to fool them or just as an opium to cope with stress of life but with true reassurance that His presence will always create a path of restoration and redemption leading to a better experience. God continually ministers to us through His messengers and the institution of His unending Love, the Church, that His Love and care for us is everlasting and even in the context of hopeless situations and conditions, we must remain hopeful that He is leading us to a liberating experience in the future. The need to keep accepting the message of Hope as an expression of God’s love is vital for our overall stability and happiness. We must hold to God firmly amid anxiety stimulating experiences. Our life is a journey with God in hopeful assurances that the heavy burden of challenges will not destroy us or the stormy waters of life shall not overpower us such that we become helpless and completely dejected. Our hope in God is the strength of our survival and progress in life as we journey to our heavenly home. It is imperative to always keep the flame of hope alive in us by spending quality time with God’s in prayers especially in the context of the Eucharistic Presence. A constant visit to Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration cannot but live you with the feeling of Hope that God is still involved in the experiences of life. An encounter with the Eucharistic mystery is to reawaken in us that God is with us and we become triumphant in the battles of life. We need the strength of hope so as not to be depressed and surrender to pessimistic vision of life when we are confronted with depressing situations. Hope is real when we are truly connected with God who gives us the assurance of His loving presence, inviting us to trust in Him and not to be afraid. With Christ victory over death, the terrifying reality of death cannot even quench the flame of hope in us since in Christ, we have conquered death, and it becomes not a trap for humanity but a channel to eternal blessedness. We are people of hope that will never give in to negativity come what may. Our hope in God will never fail us. The jubilee of hope has called us to remain hopeful in God’s presence in our experience and that we become ever active ambassadors of God’s hope in the world. May we remain hopeful even in the face of distressing situations of life. Amen.
